While Rana Daggubati does come from a family of film greats - his grandfather and legendary filmmaker D Rama Naidu; father and much-respected producer Suresh Babu as well as his uncle and popular actor Venkatesh, Rana built his interests at a personal level. A 12-year-old Rana spent time in the editing room and spent his teens paying close attention to film shoots and the process of production. He then ran a successful company, Spirit Media (one of South India's most successful post-production facilities for visual effects, animation and digital post services), began producing films with Bommalata, and dabbled in various businesses, while also foraying into acting. While building a stable career in front of the camera, he continues to enjoy his passion for technology with Anthill Studio (Media and Entertainment Tech Accelerator for start-ups), talent management with his JV with Kwan, besides handling other varied business interests, including a partnership with Amar Chitra Katha.
Rana recently made waves in the cinema circuit by presenting and exhibiting the indie film Care of Kancherapalem, while juggling his acting gigs in movies like Haathi Mere Saathi and the NTR Biopic. While investing time and efforts into making another epic film, Hiranyakashyapa that's currently gaining speed in its pre-production.
