Masterclass on Freemium Design (Limited Seating - First Come, First Serve)

In today's game industry, designing a fun game isn't enough. The design process must integrate marketing and monetization. Defining the right monetization strategy is very imporant and this decision must be taken early on during the concept phase. Of course, this is especially imporant during F2P or freemium games. In this talk, veteran game designer, Pascal Luban will cover vital concepts such as choosing the right monetization strategy, player retention and defining alternative models of monetization. A must-attend for game designers, product managers and studio directors!

Building a LiveOps Culture: Taking games to their fullest potential. (Limited Seating - First Come, First Serve)

Most studios are great at conceptualizing, building and launching new games. But what happens once you launch? Should you just move on to building the next game?

Expecting your game to get tons of users and monetize to its full potential just the way you launched it is like expecting rain to fall just because you took your umbrella.

Getting the maximum juice out of F2P games is a journey that begins with launch, and continues to eternity.

But that's boring, right? Tweaking, optimising, finessing, sweating the details. Who wants to do grunt work? We’d much rather be building the next blockbuster game.

This workshop hopes to bring the oomph back into LiveOps. Together, we will transform LiveOps into an exciting, challenging and rewarding problem that your team will WANT to solve.

Adaptive Gameplay Aesthetics: A Disruptive Game Design Framework

Chris Solarski's talk presents a disruptive game design framework inspired by traditional art principles. The framework is disruptive because it’s offers a pure art approach to game design—the first framework to do so. Attendees will gain in-depth insights into shape language and composition, and design tools for heightening physical empathy and the sensory experience of players.
